Post something detailed, thought provoking and controversial. I dare ya. Post it here as a reply or on your own journal. Be deep or just outrageous. Post something more than your breakfast menu or a meme. I double dog dare you!!
My example:
As a society we should once again have standards- most especially for behavior. I'm thinking this mostly in the "real world" where people seem to think that blinkers and common courtesy are optional. Problem is how would we police something like this? I really don't think it can, or should be legislated. If courtesy and manners became the norm instead of the exception would social pressure be enough to maintain it? Is it enough to ever regain it?
Or two for the price of one:
We're a historical recreation educational society, right?
So, we should try to balance both being as historically accurate as possible and being a comfortable place for people to learn. Otherwise, it's just a camping party in funny clothes. :) If we expect everyone to be perfect from the gate how can anyone new learn? If we have no expectations at all how many will strap on fairy wings, a kilt and a kitana (or recent movie rip-off de jour) and not bother to even try?
I'm not saying that any country or time is better than any other, but it would be nice if an outfit encompassed one at a time- preferably at least close to the 600-1650 time frame.
