Yes, I'm still alive. No, really.

On top of work craziness, I've been juggling family crisis galore lately. It's strange, while I don't have children my parents have become a great testing ground.
Anyway, I'm sorry I've dropped out of site. Things have been so crazy lately that I haven't even been able to check my v-mail in a timely manner.

On the up side, there are many happy things going on as well. My brother called me after I got off work last night and had me drive down to catch the premier of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I'm a huge Douglas Adams fan, both this series & the holistic detective series. For once I was delighted instead of horrified by a film interpretiation of a beloved book.

I'm also planning on starting the sewing project I've been wanting to do for the past few years, but been afraid to attempt. It will be a Venetian gown, with a deep V opening in front ladder laced. I'm contemplating attempting to do a dress diary, but I'd have to rely on a friend to take pictures as I don't currently have a digital camera. I also honestly don't think I'll have the time, but I usually try to bite off too much. To anyone who reads this and has done a Venetian gown before: any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. I figure I'm going to have to start with a new camica and corset.

Work, while crazy has been going well. I'm enjoying doing restorative therapy, but I'm getting increasingly frustrated with working on the floor. I love working the the patients, but some of the other staff who seem to me to be completely lazy and negligent continually annoy the hell out of me. I think if you aren't prepared to be on your feet, moving non-stop at a fairly quick pace, and to put your patient's needs above your own you shouldn't be in this line of work. I'm thinking of keeping the therapy hours, going on call for the rest and trying to get on at one of the local hospitals. I've got at least 1/2 dozen references that have said they would be delighted to sing my praises.

Hi hun,

I'm glad to hear that you are still around and doubly glad that you are doing well. Someday we'll all have to catch up for a red dwarf marathon or something. I totally need to get the DVD's and then find someone who has all the seasons on tape. MMMM
Snacks and Red Dwarf..
Heaven.
JJ

Sweet, I'm not working most Sundays, so let me know.

I also have Black Adder if you're into historical / histerical britcoms as well.

Hello. This is Ailsabeth. I found your journal a couple of years back, when I first got an account, but I don't think you've made any posts since then. I was hoping you'd come back, because it would be nice to get back in touch with you.

I keep saying that I'll get better at posting, then life interferes.

I really will at least try to be better though

I usually have Sunday's off. I'm thinking of heading down the May Faire after work tomorrow, but I could come up in the evening.
