The event was great, I need to get over to Dragonslaire more often. I woke up painfully early and had set out everything the night before when I couldn’t sleep so I’d just have to throw on my garb and go. Unfortunately I found once I got to the place we were carpooling from that I had left my purse with my cash and checkbook on the counter. Luckily since Blondtartan was going to be reimbursing me for some of the wedding cooking expenses she took care of the gate and ferry fee for me, which made me feel horrible but was better than running late. I hate doing that, I hate not having my own money on me. I also forgot my cloak in my jeep. Not a promising start to the day.

The morning was a bit brisk, but after wandering the site a bit to say hello to everyone then enjoying court (B&C do give good court, a nice balance of pageantry and fun). I took a glass bead making class. I love it! While I really don’t need another space, time and equipment heavy hobby, I could see myself really getting into it. I was adding my last decorative dot to my first bead when It exploded! Wow, who says A&S isn’t exciting. Not what I was aiming for (I let the bead get too cold) but it certainly didn’t scare me away.

I spent most of the rest of the day and evening in the kitchen. The DL foodies are an awesome bunch. They let me come play, trusted me to run with things and were just all around nice, fun people. You can tell they’ve been working together for a very long time. Before I left one of them said I can come back and play anytime. :) That makes me happier than just about any award I can think of. One of my heavy fighter friends asked me that day why I was in the kitchen cooking, after all I had just cooked for a huge number of people last weekend. I looked at him and said, “well, you fought last weekend, why do it again”? I don’t think he gets that this is my fun time, not an unpleasant chore. Still, the befuddled look on his face amused me.

I also got to meet many of my lj friends face to face for the first time. Arontius who’s very sweet and charming (although, I still don’t think he’d recognize me). Aelianora, who can do everything, even thought she denies it, Brigit says, “yes, she can!”, and her hubby Renartthefox who thought he was being all stealthy by mentioning that he’s on LJ but thought I wouldn’t know who he was. I also finally got to me both Angharadalbanes and her beautiful baby daughter. She was such a good girl (the baby, not angharad, though she was very nice too). Oh, does anyone know the LJ for the fabulous Venetian Lady who got awarded the Dargonslaire A&S award of a pearl necklace? I believe her name is Thalia? Maybe, perhaps? Could you possibly pass on my lj info? We’ve been excitedly sharing our Venetian addiction everytime we run into each other.

the dragons laire group sound like they're alot of fun. They had some classes I wanted to take, but at todays ferry prices, and my being broke, I can't go over there.
