As the holiday decends

I've got a couple of more gifts to wrap, but since we're not really doing the festivities until Saturday I've got pleanty of time.

I had suggested we take the girlchild to see Avatar on Friday, but the man creature didn't want to deal with possible crowds so we went last night. It's a pretty film. The plot is extremely predictable, but it seemed to be much more about the message and visuals anyway. To me, there seems to be a shadow of how we treated the indigenous people here in the Americas only with a happier ending.

So, the plan for tomorrow now is that R will pick up the girlchild in the afternoon (although I won't go into the BS behind the schedule change), she and I will bake up a storm and I'll make a traditional Italian holiday dinner of lasagne. I've also got to make a rasperry lace torte to bring on Saturday, and they also want me to bring a veggie platter.

The tree is still up, and I'll likely leave it up until sometime around or just after the new year (much to mr. humbug's dismay). :)

It sounds like nearly everything is in order for 12th night. I just discovered that there was an issue with the Sergeantry meeting time, so it looks like it may change time and room to 11:00-12:00, right after Nobel Estates, in the same room. The change hasen't been finalized yet, but I'm hopeful that this may actually wind up being a positive change as it will make it much easier to get more coronets attending.

The costume contest is well in hand too, we've got 5 entries so far, two panels of judges, and one back up in case one of them can't make it. :)

Now I just have to figure out the logistics between Ref & Svava's Tikki party & the Apprentice / Artisan party social thing. Maybe we can throw them all together and have an apprentice / artisan tikki party!! I don't have anything tikki to wear, but I'm sure if I bring enough booze I'll be forgiven. :)

If you'd like to post something, I certainly wouldn't mind. I've already posted reminders, and extra prods for people to sign up early.

I've also got a potential back up, just in case you wind up not being able to day trip. If you are able to go, there's absolutely still space for you, and just let me know if you have any work you'd like to display!
