Bling-y or more accurate to the form?
Nov. 9th, 2007 02:09 pmI'm in a quandary. When I first started thinking about doing an apprentice scroll I had visions of illumination dancing in my head- not sure how I was going to execute them- but man those dancing pictures were pretty.
Then I started to research, and the other thing I always thought was cool was the double tear apart scrolls and the more I looked the more I seemed to find that those would be more appropriate for apprenticing and they seemed to noticeably lack illumination. :( So I was going to so with the groovy split apart and even have the amusing text based on an extant example but now I'm debating again.
My soon to be apprentice sister Annika who rocks harder than several porn star's bedspring's (and we're talking Annie sprinkle level here) made two of the coolest scrolls I've ever seen for her apprenticing and it's got me geeking for illumination again, even though that's not my strong suit.
I don't want to be a copy cat, and I seriously don't think I'll be able to get close to as cool as she made, but now I'm thinking that my current idea looks lame and boring. I don't know why, I had been totally jazzed about the double scroll, and was planning on having the little dangly bits off the seals too.
So, I'm going to give the poll thing a try - to see what you all have to say about my current waffle-ness
